Amdea, the UK trade association for manufacturers of large and small domestic appliances announced that Rob Gosling is its new head of technical, regulation and standards, a newly-created role. Gosling joins the Association from Dyson, where he spent the last 14 years in various technical and engineering roles, with the most recent being principal standards and external affairs manager.
He brings to Amdea a strong working knowledge of the organisation, having been an active member of both the association and APPLiA while at Dyson. Gosling will be setting the strategy and delivery plan for all Amdea’s technical, regulatory and standards work and leading the team delivering core services and value.
In the new position Rob Gosling works closely with Richard Hughes, Amdea’s current technical manager, who is retiring in July, to ensure a smooth transition. «I firmly believe that Rob’s permanent addition to our team – Paul Hide, Amdea ceo said – will help us continue the excellent progress we have made over the past year. Richard’s knowledge, professionalism, enthusiasm and industry relationships will be very much missed but I am confident we will continue to build a stronger and more effective Amdea.»
