In a few days the new European Energy Labels for household appliances must be displayed in the shelves of physical stores and on Internet sales pages. The new Regulation, in fact, makes it mandatory from 1 March 2021. In order to spread the main aspects related to the new energy labeling, Anfel (Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes e Importadores de Electrodomésticos), the Spanish Association of Manufacturers and Importers of Home Appliances, has prepared an informative including the key aspects on the implementation dates of the new labeling, the defined operation for the replacement of current labels by new ones in a short period of time, as well as the main changes introduced by European regulations. The most relevant news is the disappearance of A +, A ++ and A +++ classes and the return to the A to G scaling. Energy labels will also report a QR code that directs the consumer to a European database with extended information about the products placed on the market. The guide also explains the reasons why current high energy efficiency products will automatically belong to lower energy classes, not implying that they have stopped being efficient, but simply their classification scale has been modified.
