Whirlpool EMEA was awarded with a silver medal by EcoVadis, the international rating agency that evaluates the performance of companies and their supply chains on environmental, social and ethical topics. The recognition was assigned to Whirlpool EMEA for the Ecovadis Sustainability Scorecard 2020. The silver medal placed the Group in the top 25% of the global companies evaluated, and recognizes its commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
The EcoVadis evaluation methodology is based on international standards similar to the Global Reporting Index (GRI), ISO 26000 and the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact.
This award arrives after other important recognitions obtained by Whirlpool Corporation in 2020.
Last year the Group was included among the Fortune Magazine World’s Most Admired Companies and for the fourteenth time entered on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Moreover, it earned the Corporate Equality Index perfect score for seventeen years and received many Red Dot, Big See, Awe and iF product design awards across multiple brands.
