The Effiwatts hair dryers by Rowenta have obtained the “Solar Impulse – Efficient Solution” label from the “Solar Impulse” foundation created by Bertrand Piccard (a Swiss psychiatrist and aviator, initiator of the “Solar Impulse”). This label is awarded by a committee of experts using a strict process to select 1,000 ecological solutions that are also profitable. «Since hair dryers typically consume a lot of energy, they were one of the first products that Group SEB worked on to improve energy efficiency» – the company explains. At the end of 2016, the Group introduced the Effiwatts technology in several Calor/Rowenta hair dryer models, offering high levels of performance and drying speed all while reducing energy consumption. This technology is now available in a dozen countries. Effiwatts hair dryers are eco-designed and affordable, showcasing Groupe SEB’s ambition to fight global warming and promote more responsible consumption. More generally, the Group has committed to reducing the environmental impact by becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and reducing energy consumption is a key means of achieving this target.
